Rapunzel (Children Stories)

Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, there lived a couple who longed for a child. They had a beautiful garden behind their house, which was surrounded by a high stone wall. However, this wall belonged to a wicked sorceress who lived next door.

The woman, named Rapunzel, became pregnant and had intense cravings for a specific plant called rapunzel, which grew in the sorceress's garden. The cravings grew so strong that her husband decided to risk stealing some rapunzel for her. One night, he climbed over the wall and gathered a handful of the precious herb.

However, his theft did not go unnoticed. The sorceress caught him in the act and confronted him angrily. The man pleaded for mercy, explaining his wife's condition and her longing for the rapunzel. The sorceress, though ruthless, saw an opportunity. She agreed to spare the man's life and the child's future, but in return, the couple had to give her their baby once it was born.

Reluctantly, the couple agreed to the sorceress's demands. When the baby girl was born, she was taken away by the sorceress, who named her Rapunzel after the herb that had caused all this turmoil. The sorceress locked her in a tall tower with no doors or stairs, accessible only by a window at the top.

Years passed, and Rapunzel grew into a beautiful young woman with long, golden hair that flowed like a waterfall. She spent her days in the tower, singing and dreaming of the outside world. Her only companion was the sorceress, who visited her by climbing up her long hair.

One day, a brave and adventurous prince happened to pass by the tower. He heard Rapunzel's melodious voice floating through the air, and he was captivated. He followed the sound and discovered the tower hidden deep in the forest. Determined to meet the enchanting voice, he called out to Rapunzel.

Rapunzel, startled by the prince's presence, initially hesitated. However, her loneliness and curiosity got the better of her, and she let her hair down. The prince climbed up the tower and found himself face to face with the beautiful Rapunzel. They instantly fell in love.

The prince visited Rapunzel every day, and their love blossomed. Rapunzel shared her dreams and desires with him, and he vowed to rescue her from the tower. Together, they devised a plan.

One day, when the sorceress climbed up Rapunzel's hair, the prince surprised her. He grabbed the sorceress's long braid and used it as a trap. The sorceress cried out in pain as he cut off her braid, causing her to lose her magical powers.

With the sorceress defeated, Rapunzel and the prince descended from the tower and escaped into the outside world. They traveled to the prince's kingdom, where they were married and lived happily ever after.

The tale of Rapunzel and her prince served as a reminder of the power of love and the triumph of good over evil. Rapunzel's long hair became a symbol of her strength and resilience, and her story inspired generations to believe in the magic of love and the beauty of freedom.
